Sewing Notes
Reminder that seam allowances are 1 cm (3/8″) wide, unless stated otherwise.
- Press the side seams on the body to the back, and press the seams on the facing to the front to prevent bulk. Darts are pressed down.
- If your fabric frays a lot, you may want to first overlock all around the pieces.
- Sew the top in this order: bust darts, center back on body, center seams on facing, side seams on body and facing, neckline and strap edges and hem (turned once 3cm-1 1/4″).
- OPTIONAL: you may want to anchor stitch the facings at the side seams to keep in it place.
- To prevent the neckline edges from stretching out, I recommend you to stay-stitch them on both the facings and body. Do this before you attach the facing to the body.
